What is broken today, and how will Atovika fix it?

Türkiye has 158,725 registered food and beverage businesses, and the Zero Waste regulation obliges covered businesses to separate organic waste, keep records and obtain certification. Yet separation alone captures no value: a restaurant cannot prove what it handed over, at what quality, or where it went — so it fails its own reporting, and biomethanisation plants receive an unverifiable, contaminated feedstock that destroys yield.

Atovika closes that gap with a measurement, verification and valuation layer for organic waste. We capture weight, composition and contamination at the point of separation, per business and per collection, using barcode-level identification. That evidence becomes an audit-ready compliance pack for the business — tonnes diverted, contamination rate, avoided emissions — and a quality-assured feedstock contract for digester and compost operators. Our valuation engine prices every tonne by its real conversion yield, calibrated against İSTAÇ's operating biomethanisation plant: 120 m³ of biogas and 188 kWh of net electricity per tonne, within 0.3% of the plant's published performance.

The result: separation becomes investable for the business, feedstock becomes bankable for the operator, and the climate outcome becomes measurable.

Atovika sits directly on COP31's first priority theme, Zero Waste — unlocking the climate action potential of waste management through scalable circular economy solutions — and on the delivery agenda the conference is built around.

Three alignments. First, mitigation where it is fastest: organic waste in landfills is a major source of methane, a short-lived climate pollutant, and source separation is the cheapest intervention available. Second, circularity with a market: separated organics become biogas, net electricity and compost, so the climate outcome is produced by a business model rather than a subsidy. Third, verification: our measurement, verification and reporting layer produces the auditable evidence that corporate Scope 3 reporting, national MRV and carbon markets all depend on — turning a policy obligation into data.

We also align with Türkiye's own zero-waste agenda, which the host country has advanced for a decade, and with the Startup Zone's stated purpose: climate startups as implementation partners, not exhibitors. We bring a validated model and an early position in a market of 158,725 food and beverage businesses, with a first pilot cluster planned in Istanbul.
