Climate
commitment.
Our position against the Race to Zero starting line.
Atovika is a pre-pilot company. This page states where we stand against the five starting-line criteria — Pledge, Plan, Proceed, Publish and Persuade — including what we have not yet done. We publish it because a commitment that cannot be checked is not a commitment.
Explore our positionAmbition should be
accountable.
Atovika is preparing its climate accountability position against the Race to Zero starting line. An SME Climate Hub commitment for the former brand should not be assumed to transfer to Atovika; an Atovika-specific commitment record must be verified before we claim membership or a signed pledge.
Pledge.
Our intended commitment is to halve greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and reach net zero before 2050, with annual disclosure. Before describing this as a signed Atovika pledge, we need to confirm an Atovika-specific SME Climate Hub record. Our operational baseline is not yet measured.
Plan.
Our transition plan is being prepared and will be published within 12 months of the commitment. It will cover:
- a measured baseline of our own operational footprint (Scope 1, 2 and material Scope 3) using GHG Protocol methodology;
- remote-first, low-travel operations, with renewable electricity at any physical site we occupy;
- digital-first delivery, so that growth in clients does not translate into growth in operational emissions;
- annual public progress reporting against the interim and long-term targets.
The plan is not yet published. We mark it as outstanding rather than describe it as complete.
Proceed.
Our actions are, by design, mostly outside our own four walls. Organic waste in landfill is a major source of methane, and separation is only bankable when somebody measures it and proves it. That is what we build.
modelled biogas per tonne of separated organic waste
modelled net electricity per tonne
estimated tCO₂e per tonne diverted from landfill
Valuation engine: quantifies biogas, net electricity and compost per tonne of separated organic waste. The 120 m³ and 188 kWh figures are proposed reference values from the application draft, not field-validated Atovika results; they are not the default output of the current interactive calculator and the claimed plant comparison still needs source verification.
Pilot target: a 10–15 business cluster in Istanbul within 90 days; 100 subscribing businesses targeting roughly 4,000–8,000 tCO₂e avoided per year. These are targets, not achieved results.
Own operations: remote-first, minimal travel, paperless.
Publish.
We do not yet publish a corporate emissions report, because we are pre-pilot and have not yet measured our baseline. What we commit to:
- publish an annual progress statement through the SME Climate Hub reporting route, in a standardised format, aligned with the UNFCCC Global Climate Action portal;
- publish measured pilot results — including results that contradict our own model. Our conversion model is checked, not validated; if the field audit breaks it, we will say so publicly.
Persuade.
We influence through verifiable numbers rather than advocacy:
Our valuation engine runs publicly in the browser, so any operator, consultant or regulator can test our figures and challenge them.
We work with municipal and licensed waste operators on measurement standards for source-separated organic waste, and with hospitality businesses to make separation verifiable rather than merely declared.
We bring measured Turkish pilot results to international fora, so that sector claims can be checked against data instead of assumed. This remains an intention until pilot results exist.
We hold no membership of any association that advocates against climate policy, and we will not take one.
Don’t take our word for it.
Test the model.
Explore the live valuation engine, question the assumptions and tell us where the numbers need work.
